Meet Our Doctor: Dr. Mahrukh Chishty-Qauam
Meet Our Doctor: Dr. Mahrukh Chishty-Qauam
Dr. Chishty-Qauam has been in practice for almost 12 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from UC Davis in 2001 and continued on to UC Berkeley to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree in 2006. She has received intensive training during her rotations at the Veterans Affairs hospitals in San Francisco and Palo Alto with emphasis on ocular disease management. She has also attended numerous special training workshops to advance her knowledge in the latest contact lens technologies.
Dr. Chishty-Qauam enjoys seeing patients of all ages, especially children. She believes in early prevention of visual disorders and ocular diseases and she will take the time to educate her patients on preventative measures and answer any questions from concerned parents.
In her spare time, Dr. Chishty-Qauam enjoys exploring the world with her son and a camera at hand to capture all the beautiful moments in life. She is passionate about staying active and healthy and enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and running. She also loves to get creative in the kitchen where she is known to cook up some fanciful meals for family and friends.
Dr. Chishty-Qauam is fluent in English, Urdu/Hindi, and is able to conduct an entire exam in Spanish. She also has some knowledge of Farsi however she continues to expand her vocabulary in speaking this language.
