Dr. Marites Salazar graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences from California State University, Sacramento in 2006. She received her Bachelor of Science in Vision Sciences and Doctor of Optometry degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Salus University) in 2010. She also received Honors in Clinical Excellence during her clinical rotations. Dr. Salazar is certified by the National Board of Examiners to practice Optometry, including the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease with Therapeutic Agents by the State of California Board of Optometry.
Dr. Salazar has extensive clinical experience including the treatment of glaucoma, ocular disease management, emergency eye care, retinal disease, pre- and post-operative care for patients receiving cataract and refractive surgeries, dry eye disease and soft contact lens fittings. As a primary eye care physician, she provides the highest level of care for her patients through the latest technologies in glasses and contact lens solutions.
Dr. Salazar was born a “military brat”, affording her the opportunity to experience different cultures around the world including Europe and the Asian Pacific Islands. Now a resident of Sacramento, she enjoys the outdoor activities the region provides–hiking, cycling, and jogging. But as a balance, and retired obstacle course racer, she is not a stranger to the “foodie” and donut scene.
