About the Doctor: Ken Chen Independent Doctor of Optometry at Site for Sore Eyes
Ken Chen, an Independent Doctor of Optometry. Chen is an attentive and compassionate optometrist serving the communities of Daly City. Chen accomplished his undergraduate career at Rutgers University, graduating with a degree in biology. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry.
Chen’s medical experience includes diagnosis, treatment, and management of a variety of eye diseases and dysfunctions, including dry eye, allergic/bacterial conjunctivitis, staphylococcal/demodex blepharitis, amblyopia (lazy eye), eye-strain, convergence insufficiency, keratoconus, cataract, macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy. He has also had a lot of experience removing small corneal foreign bodies and fitting astigmatism / monovision / multifocal contact lenses.
Chen is committed to providing the best care and establishing long-lasting relationships with his patients. He is always very transparent with them and educates patient thoroughly on eye diseases and prevention during his consultations. He often take his time to go over nutrition necessary to maintain good eye health. Chen embraces holistic approach to eye care, and often can provide patient with insights to eye related systemic issues, such as sleep apnea, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, chronic inflammation, headaches, and dementia.
Chen is fluent in English, Mandarin, Taiwanese; and is able to conduct exams in Spanish, Japanese, and Cantonese.
